Position Summary

The Senior Content Production Manager is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for staff during content planning, creation, enhancement, quality controls, developing metrics and identifying emerging opportunities. This position requires comprehensive understanding of content enrichment and publication processes, industry standards, market intelligence, project management, technical systems, and can effectively manage multiple on and off-site teams. This position will direct all aspects of the content authoring and publication activities related to automotive repair content for various ALLDATA products. The Senior Manager of Content Production must be familiar with software tools available for managing a publication environment, be capable of training, mentoring, and building a strong succession bench, while managing all aspects of the teams in which they lead.

Position Responsibilities - Other Duties May Be Assigned

  • Developing, documenting, and implementing plans which support ALLDATA’s current and future strategies of providing automotive repair content for ALLDATA products, which includes OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), Non-OEM, and authored sources.
  • Develops, documents, and implements strategies to enrich automotive repair content and to support ALLDATA’s current and future strategies which includes OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), Non-OEM, and authored sources.
  • Develops, produces, maintains, and tracks annual production schedules and budget.
  • Communicates strategic objectives and progress to leadership and teams.
  • Leads, hires, manages, trains, coaches, and mentors’ direct reports, including Production Managers, Senior Editors, Technical Support Specialists and Technical Editors.
  • Creates custom training curriculum for technical staff in their function to close skill gaps and improve individual performance.
  • Provides strategic input for editorial staff assignments and quality of output.
  • Works with Senior Leadership, Product Managers, IT (Information Technology) and QA (Quality Assurance) to develop and implement content enhancements, product enhancements, market expansion, and new usability features.
  • Engages with Engineers & Managers to design, implement and maintain editorial software & processes.
  • Performs market research analysis to determine customer needs, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities for ALLDATA to pursue.
  • Exercises controllership and financial competencies in managing departmental budgets.
  • Manages vendor relations, workload, and processes. Develops and implement production plan and quality standards.
  • Analyzes customer and sales feedback to provide strategic direction for content enhancement and content creation activities.
  • Acts as second level contact for customer complaints and data requests in support of Customer Service & Sales departments. Manages all release activities required of Production.
  • Demonstrates consistent accountability, while making and standing behind their commitments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent experience in Business Management, Business Administration, Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of management experience, leading both technical and non-technical team members.
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant ALLDATA product and business experience.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making ability, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to clearly articulate ideas and provide update to both direct reports as well as Executives.
  • Strong understanding of legal contract language and the ability to negotiate contracts on behalf of ALLDATA.
  • Possesses a strong business acumen, financial literacy, and demonstrates the ability to make decisions on the fly to enable the success of their team.
  • A good coach and mentor to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Understands capacity management and ensures their respective teams are operating at peak utilization and efficiency.

The salary range for this position is $107,000 - $187,000. When extending an offer of employment, ALLDATA considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, company financials, as well as external market and organizational considerations. Compensation Range (USD): MIN 107000.0 - MID 147100.0 - MAX 187000.0
