Essential Duties:

  • Executing all processes and ensuring financial data integrity related to monthly accounting close
  • Managing and scheduling all responsibilities to meet month-end close deadlines and associated reporting requirements
  • Ensuring that the company maintains compliance with GAAP accounting standards
  • Ability to interface with both internal and external auditors and accompanying requests to facilitate efforts
  • Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
  • Cross-functional coordination with commercial, operations and supply chain teams to ensure accuracy of financials
  • Utilize existing query tools and financial systems, make effective use of the processes and procedures imbedded within the system and should be able to assess and recommend where automation opportunities exist
  • Meets accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans and reviews, resolving problems, and identifying system improvements
  • Assisting with special projects within accounting and cross-functionally with other departments

Requirements:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • EXPERIENCE: 5 to 7+ years experience in equivalent role
  • OTHER:
    • Submit to and satisfactorily complete pre-employment background, medical, alcohol, and drug screening
    • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
    • JDE or similar ERP experience preferred
    • Prior Chemicals manufacturing experence a plus
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting concepts and principles and must be able to produce high quality output (account reconciliations, efficient journal entries and external audit requests - to name a few)
    • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as superior attention to detail
    • Ability to function in a fast-paced, lean team-based environment
    • Advanced organizational skills, a high level of self-motivation, ability to work independently/efficiently in a high-pressure environment, and a proven ability to manage multiple, competing, priorities through to completion
    • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people, strong communication skills, both written and oral
