Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to oversee and manage database systems primarily MSSQL and PostgreSQL.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management, performance tuning, security, and team leadership.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of databases, while also coordinating with other IT and business teams.

Who You Are

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Master's degree or relevant certifications (e., Oracle Certified Master, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Database Speciality) is a plus.
  
  

Primary Skills

• Proven experience with database lifecycle management Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database systems (MSSQL,- PostgreSQL).
• Expertise in database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security management.
• Ability to optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and resource management.
• Perform regular database health checks and tune databases for optimal performance.
• Experience in Planning and managing database capacity to ensure scalability and efficient resource allocation.
• Proficiency in writing scripts (e., SQL, PowerShell, Shell) for automation of routine tasks and database maintenance.
• Experience in managing database incidents and coordinating with other teams to resolve complex problems.
• Experience in Database storage, efficiency management, Uptime management (Availability) and Monitoring.
• Create and manage automated monitoring and alerting systems.
• Experience in implementation and managing database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing.
• Experience in Disaster recovery processes.
• Experience in CICD / DevOps Collaboration.
• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, connectivity issues, and data corruption.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and standards.
• Generate reports and analytics related to database performance and health.
  
  

Secondary Skills

• Knowledge in Redshift and Snowflake.
• Experience in managing data warehouses and understanding of ETL processes.
• Knowledge of programming languages (e., Python, Java).
• Experience with cloud-based database services (AWS RDS) is good to have.
  
  

Years Of Exp Range

• Minimum of 5 10 years of experience in database administration.
• Location: Mumbai / Bangalore-Work from Office.
• Might require on call support- in- other- Shifts.
