Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced SQL Administrator to join our team supporting ADP systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL database administration, optimization, and troubleshooting. This role requires hands-on expertise in managing SQL Server environments and ensuring database performance, security, and reliability.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across development, testing, and production environments.
Monitor database performance, implement performance tuning, and optimize queries to ensure system efficiency.
Perform backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
Manage database security by creating and managing user roles, permissions, and encryption settings.
Develop and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development.
Collaborate with developers and business analysts to design database structures that align with business requirements.
Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patch management to maintain system stability.
Implement and maintain database monitoring solutions to proactively identify issues.
Manage data replication, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions for business continuity.
Create detailed documentation for database designs, configurations, and processes.
Required Skills And Qualifications
5+ years of experience in SQL Server administration.
Expertise in SQL Server 2016/2019 and newer versions.
Strong understanding of T-SQL programming and query optimization techniques.
Experience with database backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions (e.g., Always On, Log Shipping, Mirroring).
Proficiency in database security best practices and role-based access controls.
Experience with monitoring tools like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Redgate, or similar solutions.
Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation of database tasks.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve database-related issues efficiently.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with ADP systems or payroll-related databases.
Familiarity with cloud-based database environments (e.g., Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
Certification in SQL Server Administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) is a plus.
