The successful candidate will provide services for elementary and middle school students with IEPs. Essential job functions include but are not limited to, writing IEP goals and objectives; conducting standardized assessments; collaborating with colleagues to improve student outcomes, both special education and general education staff, filing Medicaid reimbursement requests, maintaining logs of services provided, and any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other.
Experience working with school students including academic content, lesson modification, and delivery of services within an inclusive environment.
Essential Performance Responsibilities
Assists students to acquire an age-norm and appropriate level of communicative skill for success
Provides consultation to classroom teachers to help students to carry over skills learned through delivery of clinician services.
Performs diagnostic testing and assessment of referred individual learners.
Work with parents of children receiving speech therapy, providing ongoing communication and involving the parents in the carryover process.
Participates in planning and placement meetings where the identification of a child as eligible for special education and related services is being considered.
Conducts assessments, testing and diagnostic evaluations of students for the purpose of identifying learning issues and recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to overcome issues and maximize learning.
Writes and implements individual educational plans and provides ongoing evaluation of progress toward the goals and objectives of an approved individual educational plan.

Perform all other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Special Services and/or the Building Administrator
Required Certification & Qualifications
Licensed by the Connecticut State Department of Health as a Speech Pathologist - #061
Possess a certificate of clinical competence in Speech/Language Pathology
