The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct evaluations to determine a speech/language disability condition, an educational need for specialized instruction, and provide recommendations to support communication. The incumbent will develop individualized education plans and conduct ARD meetings to ensure appropriate programming for students within the least restrictive environment The Speech Language Pathologist will provide therapeutic intervention and classroom support to eliminate or reduce communication problems/impairments that interfere with the students' ability to derive full benefit from the educational program. The incumbent will maintain compliance of all federal / local timelines, individual records, Medicaid billing, and state performance plan indicators
Position Description Essential Duties And Responsibilities Service Delivery
Plan and provide services that are appropriate and consistent with speech goals contained in the individual education plan (IEP)
Develop functional individualized education plans based on the communication needs of the student
Provide intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of each individual student
Gather and interpret data with individual students, as well as, overall program evaluation to support data-based decision making and monitor student outcomes Compliance
Comply with and meet federal and state mandates and local board policy
Conduct assessments in collaboration with others that help to identify students with communication disorders as well as to establish eligibility and inform instruction and intervention, consistent with evidence based practices
Plan, conduct, and/or participate in ARD committee meetings, staffings, parent meetings, etc.
Comply with and meet federal and state mandates and local board policy (i.e. activities may include individualized education program (IEP) development, Medicaid billing, report writing, and treatment plan/therapy log development Administrative/ Campus Support
Support student services provided by the speech language therapist
Collaborate with other professional/classroom teachers and offer assistance in addressing the linguistic and metalinguistic foundations of curriculum learning for students with disabilities
Compile, maintain, and file/submit all reports, records, and other documents required
Engage in continuing education experiences and professional development to enhance the skills / knowledge necessary to serve a diverse student body
Supervisory Responsibilities
ASHA CCC/SLP's: Supervise licensed assistants in speech-language pathology, clinical fellowship year interns, and students as needed
