Villages Preparatory is seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team on a part-time basis. The therapist will work with students who have speech,
language, and communication challenges, helping them develop the skills necessary for academic success and social engagement. This role requires collaboration with educators,
parents, and other specialists to create individualized treatment plans that meet each students unique needs.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct assessments to evaluate students speech, language, and communication abilities.
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans (IEPs) tailored to students needs.
Provide direct therapy services to students in both individual and small-group settings.
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom environment.
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
Complete and submit required documentation within required timelines.
Educate staff and families on strategies to support communication development.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and school regulations regarding speech therapy services.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful In This Role:
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) from an accredited program.
California state licensure as an SLP (or eligibility to obtain).
ASHA Certificate if Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
Experience working with school aged children, particularly in a special education or non public school setting.
Proficiency in MS Office systems and ability to utilize an electronic medical record.
Proficiency with state and county licensing and other governing bodies.
Ability to establish and consistently enforce appropriate boundaries with patients.
Understanding child/adult/adolescent development and family systems.
Must maintain a valid California Drivers' License, have proof of automobile insurance
and maintain a safe driving record based on Villages of California policy.
