Position Summary:
Lawrence Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The SLP plays a vital role in supporting students' academic and social success by assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication, and related disorders. This individual will work collaboratively with educators, families, and related service providers to ensure students receive comprehensive, inclusive support that promotes language development and access to the curriculum. The ideal candidate is student-centered, culturally responsive, and committed to helping all learners reach their fullest potential.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Screen students with suspected speech, language, hearing, or auditory processing difficulties through observation, consultation, history review, and appropriate instruments
* Conduct evaluations and reevaluations in accordance with Chapter 766 using diagnostic tests and clinical procedures
* Write detailed diagnostic summaries and consult with parents and educators to inform instruction and support strategies
* Provide speech and language remediation through individual and small group therapy
* Participate as an active member of the Special Education Evaluation Team and assist in developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
* Consult and coordinate regularly with parents, teachers, and other related service providers
* Lead and contribute to system-wide in-service training and workshops for school staff
* Maintain accurate documentation and records of student progress and services
* Pursue ongoing professional development through trainings, courses, and attendance at relevant conferences
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Strong knowledge of communication disorders and intervention strategies
* Proficiency in conducting evaluations and interpreting assessment results
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
* Familiarity with IEP processes and special education regulations
* Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse student populations
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Comfort with providing professional development to staff
* Proficiency in English; bilingual preferred
Qualifications & Requirements:
* Licensed and certified in Massachusetts as a Speech-Language Pathologist
* Master's Degree with at least 60 graduate credits in communication disorders (required)
* ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidate
* Proficient in English (required); bilingual preferred
* Ability to commute to or relocate to Lawrence, MA

Pay Range
* $56,372.00 - $84,00.00 per year
