Best Point is seeking an individual to provide diagnostic evaluations, treatment and consultations for clients with a variety of communication disorders. To serve as an expert in the practice of Autism Spectrum Disorders and provide specialty leadership, education, and mentorship for professionals within Best Point Education and Behavioral Health and in the community.

Minimum Education, Experience and Other Skill Requirements:

Master of Speech Pathology OR Master Communication Science & Disorders; Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) granted by the (ASHA) American Speech Hearing Assocation.; Active state license in speech-language pathology; Five years total experience working in the field of speech pathology

Experience working with clients with disabilities, which include social, behavioral, communication and learning challenges as well as clients on the Autism Spectrum. Knowledge of special education research based best practices. Ability to communicate with community agencies, parents, post-secondary education institutions and staff. A valid driver’s license is required.

Must possess minimum technical skills including familiarity with Microsoft Windows and ability to use standard Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment:

Exposed to a combination of office, school and mental health treatment environments. Exposed to children with behavior problems. May be exposed to shouting and clients who may be verbally and physically aggressive. May be exposed to blood or vomit and bodily fluids.

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be capable of sustained exertion and be able to participate in the physical restraint techniques and exercises required to ensure safety of clients at all times
