To help achieve that mission, NeArc has created an Assistive Technology Lending Library. This space holds many items that offer solutions for a wide range of challenges. Individuals can test out and borrow some of the newest smart home and disability-specific applications and devices on the market.

Job Summary: The AT Speech Language Pathologist conducts person-centered AT assessments and provides AT recommendations for individuals served by NeArc and the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). They create comprehensive evaluation documentation in accordance with program requirements. They work collaboratively with ISP team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides an AT evaluation for clients based on individual’s goals for greater independence and safety
  • Evaluates all environments an individual operates in and the different ways AT can assist in each environments
  • Draft evaluations that include potential solutions and identify equipment selected to fit the individual’s needs, goals, or capabilities
  • Collaborates with relevant staff and/or clinical experts to assist with assessments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in special education, health sciences, or rehabilitation science required. Master’s preferred.
  • Current Massachusetts’ license in Speech Language Pathology (Open to individuals seeking to acquire ATP certification)
  • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or experience in occupational therapy preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation

Job Type: Per Diem, less than 20hrs per week.

Work Environment: Evaluations will occur within the home, school, or day program of the client, or at the Center for Linking Lives in Danvers, necessitating travel. Occasional evening or weekend hours.

Pay Rate: $40-$45/hr
