Education and Experience
* Minimum of Master's Degree in Speech and Language with required successful school internship and/or student teaching
* Hold and maintain current licensure in Speech and Language Pathology in the State of Indiana
* Hold and maintain registration with Indiana Professional License Agency
* Possess a basic knowledge of special education laws and regulations and can follow developed procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Diagnoses, evaluates and reports speech and language skills as related to the general education curriculum
* Plans, schedules, directs and conducts treatment programs for individuals with language and/or speech impairments
* Maintains all student records required by law, policies and administrative procedures
* Reviews individual files obtaining background information prior to evaluation to determine appropriate tests and ensures that information is available
* Appropriately administers scores and interprets specialized speech and language assessments
* Utilizes research to aid in identifying appropriate techniques and services to meet student needs
* For students being considered for only speech services, the Speech and Language Pathologist will act as the Teacher of Record. In this role they serve in a leadership role for articulation, fluency and voice cases:
* to facilitate the referral process,
* complete the record review,
* initiate interventions,
* complete appropriate evaluations,
* consider services and
* collaborate with the CCC members on decisions about the student
* Consults with the TOR on the development of the individualized educational plans for students when speech and/or language are related services
* Provides students with strategies necessary for generalization of learned skills to promote independent monitoring of communication
* Conducts and participates in case conferences to review diagnostic information and student progress
* Supervises and evaluates assistants and/or associates to assure speech and language services are provided in an appropriate manner
* Understands and implements the use of assistive technology with students and consults with other staff as needed
* Provides ongoing professional development activities for school and community when requested
* Attends speech and language staff meetings as well as all building staff meetings
* Supervises speech-language pathology assistants if necessary
* Performs any other duties as assigned

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
Benefits determined by the Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
