SEEM Collaborative's Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students is seeking to fill the position of Speech Language Pathologist.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in speech-language pathology, certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, public school certification and licensed in Massachusetts to practice. May be in the process of completing clinical fellowship year under the supervision of a certified speech-language pathologist.
CCC-SLP or CF-SLP credential requirement with experience in language, speech and auditory development of children with hearing loss preferred. Knowledge of Signing Exact English, cochlear implants, hearing aids and HAT Systems preferred.
Scope of duties:
Evaluates students’ speech and language needs and develops goals and objectives to be considered as part of the IEP process in written evaluation reports.
Delivers speech and language services within an integrated therapies approach, when possible, with ongoing consultation with classroom staff.
Consults with the student’s caregivers as deemed necessary by the administrative team.
Attends IEP meetings and other meetings as deemed necessary by the administrative team.
Provides written progress reports on a quarterly basis and otherwise as required.
Attends integrated therapy planning sessions as required by the administrative team.
May be required to supervise fellow therapists during clinical fellowship year
Willingness to participate in on-site sign language training is required.
Must have the ability to push, pull or lift approximately 40 lbs. Must have the ability to move quickly from standing to floor and floor to standing.
Must be able to work remotely if necessary
Other duties as assigned by the executive director.
Employment is contingent upon passing a SAFIS fingerprint and CORI screening.
