Overview: Intermediate-level SLP with increased responsibilities and independence in assessing and treating speech and language disorders. Takes an active role in developing and implementing treatment plans, documentation, and collaboration.

Job Tasks:

  • Assessment:
  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations of speech and language skills using a variety of diagnostic materials and tools.
  • Develops and adjusts treatment plans based on detailed assessment results.
  • Treatment:
  • Independently implements and modifies treatment plans.
  • Utilizes advanced intervention approaches, strategies, and materials.
  • Establishes and prioritizes treatment goals, providing advising and education to patients and families.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of assessments and progress.
  • Ensures compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration:
  • Effectively collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers.
  • Directs and mentors support staff in assisting with treatment.

Speech Language Pathologist I

Overview: Intermediate-level SLP with increased responsibilities and independence in assessing and treating speech and language disorders. Takes an active role in developing and implementing treatment plans, documentation, and collaboration.

Job Tasks:

  • Assessment:

oConducts comprehensive evaluations of speech and language skills using a variety of diagnostic materials and tools.

oDevelops and adjusts treatment plans based on detailed assessment results.

  • Treatment:

oIndependently implements and modifies treatment plans.

oUtilizes advanced intervention approaches, strategies, and materials.

oEstablishes and prioritizes treatment goals, providing advising and education to patients and families.

  • Documentation:

oMaintains accurate and timely documentation of assessments and progress.

oEnsures compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.

  • Collaboration:

oEffectively collaborates with physicians, family members, and other clinical providers.

Directs and mentors support staff in assisting with treatment.

  • Postgraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an ASHA accredited program.
  • Work Experience: >1 year
  • Current SC state licensure required.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA)

Additional Job Description

Education: Postgraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an ASHA accredited program. Work Experience: 1 year. Current SC state licensure required. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
