Job Title: SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (1.0 FTE)
Salary: Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications per the current teacher contract.
Qualifications:
* Professional Educator License with an endorsement as a Speech-Language Pathologist registered in Region 6
* Experience preferred working with elementary students in grades early childhood through 6th
* Knowledgeable in phonology, fluency, and language disorders
* Experience with AAC preferred
* Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents and serve on a multidisciplinary team
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Duties:
* Identify and provide appropriate services for children with communication disorders in the following areas: phonological/articulation disorders, language disorders, stuttering/dysfluency, and other speech-language disorders.
* Participate in developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including measurable goals and objectives for each student's needs as applicable to the educational setting.
* Interpret test findings and make appropriate recommendations.
* Establish and maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
* Participate in all pre-referral and referral procedures as required by the District.
* Conduct comprehensive evaluations and complete progress reports.
* Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other professionals, students, parents, and community agencies.
* Consult with teachers, parents, and other IEP committee members to ensure that students' needs are being met.
* Model professional and ethical conduct at all times.
* Participate in District department meetings of speech-language pathologists for the purpose of coordinating and improving the program and services to students.
