Summary

Job Summary The Specialist, Utilities and Energy conducts the analysis, recommendations, and implementation of utility initiatives and energy payments and initiatives across 200+ retail and distribution center locations. Responsibilities also include the coordination of zero waste management programs aligned with enterprise sustainability commitments. Additionally, the position assists the broader community team with various coordination and support Job Description * Experience Required: 3 to 5 years in a similar utilities & sustainability position * Experience Required: Financial acumen, ability to analyze energy consumption and derive insight * Experience Desired: Thorough understanding of emissions, renewable energy, offsets, and energy efficiency * Must have very strong technical skills (MS Excel, at an advanced level) * Education Preferred: Bachelors Degree in a related field like environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainability business THIS IS A HYBRID WORK MODEL, MUST BE ON SITE 3 DAYS PER WEEK AT OUR CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP CORPORATE OFFICE Job Responsibilities * Manage utility relationships, including review of daily and monthly reports and dashboards, complete site setup forms and coordination with utility providers for new locations and provider changes, and process monthly service invoices and rebate requirements. * Lead special projects and audits related to Company's zero waste initiatives, including the coordination of RFP implementation and analysis, budgeting of trash, cardboard and plastic, and assist stores with any waste-related issues that arise. * Manage vendor and utility rebate and grant submissions, tracking and accounting * Work with finance team on period closings, including store P & L allocations, monthly invoice uploads for independent store locations, tax credit requirements, and closed property budgets. * Collaborate with real estate and engineering teams in support of energy overuse programs and variance resolutions, energy efficiency projects and transfers of service. Manage touch bases to stay aligned on sustainability capex, new construction applications, and acquisitions. * Coordinate contract reviews with legal and enterprise leaders. * Support procurement on electric, gas, and water sourcing and supplier switches. Manage regular connects with supplier partners and account managers. Assist stores and facilities in the event of utility outages. Responsibilities for analysis and budgeting, as well as demand response and demand management. * Produce monthly reporting (ex. degree days, late fees, and sustainability savings), and manage solar-related and other projects, as needed. * Support broader Community and Sustainability team with philanthropic partner set-up, account management, invoicing, and the distribution of monetary and food donations and wholesale orders. Additional coordination and support, as needed.
