Role: Specialist Site Reliability Engineering
Site Reliability Engineering Specialist will help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions for operational enhancements. This role mainly focuses on support and software development for implementing/configuring monitoring tools and techniques, optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and reducing work through automation.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Agile software development process as a member of scrum teams and work according to the goals of the team.
- Analyze and address failure patterns and incidents in a team setting and reduce MTTD, MTTR and MTBF.
- Design suitable monitoring frameworks to accomplish end-to-end monitoring and seamless alerting.
- Analyze performance tests and their results, document and identify optimization opportunities within Medline's software stack.
- Participate in the full development lifecycle of creating automated solutions including seamless alerting and monitoring and addressing technical debts.
- Troubleshoot production processing and execute problem resolution through post-issue evaluations, root-cause analysis and remediation.
- Design and implement performance tests, identify bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization and capacity demands, and present solutions for continuous improvements.
- Design automated software and product upgrades, change management and release management solutions.
- Mentor and coach the team to adopt new tools and technologies wherever applicable.
- Stand as incident commander as needed, ensure blameless postmortems are performed and documented for future reference.
- Maintain SRE troubleshooting runbooks and update them time to time when needed or if new architectural components are added.
Requirements:
- Overall 10+ years of experience on OPS/SRE/Development and minimum 3+ years of experience in distributed environments with cloud microservices and micro frontend.
- Proficient on at least one APM tool like Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk Signal Fx, AppDynamics or Azure Monitor.
- Demonstrate strong experience in SRE culture and implementation techniques.
- 3 years of experience in software development with any programming language.
- Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
- Expert practitioner in one or more technology domains, should be a cross-domain expert, with the ability to solve complex and mission critical problems within a business or across multiple business units.
- Familiarity with infrastructure components such as routers, load balancers, cloud products (Azure/AWS/GCP), container systems, compute, storage and networks.
- Hands-on Experience working in Kubernetes, Docker, Scalability.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Good verbal and communication skills.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related
- Certifications (Not Mandatory – Highly Desired) - Preferred certification areas: Azure Solution Architect Assc, any industry-recognized Site Reliability Engineering and Devops.
