Mission

As a Special Process Quality Engineer, you are responsible for ensuring the application and optimization of special processes in the workshop while ensuring that production complies with quality and product requirements through the process.

You are the internal focal point for all issues related to the quality of Special Processes. You are part of the Quality Assurance (QA) team and work closely with your colleagues from various programs. You also collaborate closely with the system quality team and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the methods teams to integrate quality requirements into work procedures during product industrialization and serial production.
  • Qualify special processes (heat treatment, various surface treatments, etc.) through mastering equipment, production documentation, and operator certification.
  • Manage non-conformity, conduct root cause analyses, lead corrective action committees with operational teams, and implement preventive and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor/conduct technical and normative audits, both internal and external (NADCAP, clients, EN9100, ISO 14001, etc.) related to special processes.
  • Monitor and act on the quality performance of the special processes used for SABCA programs.
  • Serve as the interface with the customer for all matters related to the quality of Special Processes: progress updates, inquiries, complaints, etc.
  • Contribute to risk analyses of manufacturing processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and optimization projects related to special processes.

Profile

Technical Skills

Knowledge

  • Master's degree in Civil or Industrial Engineering, with a technical orientation in electromechanics, mechanics, aeronautics, materials, or chemistry, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of various special processes (heat treatment, surface treatments, etc.) and associated quality requirements.
  • Knowledge in reading technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes and treatments.
  • Excellent communication in English and French or Dutch.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems (SAP, S4HANA).

Experience

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in special processes or related fields in industrial quality or manufacturing methods.
  • Experience with Nadcap requirements is essential.
  • Relevant experience in Engineering/Quality is a major asset.
  • Maturity to work on qualification projects or their maintenance.
  • Proficient in quality audits.
  • Mastery of non-conformance management and problem-solving tools.
