Our Community Medicine Programs provide preventative health services for client-owned animals at our Community Veterinary Clinic, High-Quality High-Volume Spay/Neuter Clinic, and Mobile Vaccine Clinic.


We are currently seeking a Community Medicine Veterinary Nursing Care Manager to lead our Spay/Neuter team in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients and clients.


This hands-on management position is responsible for the growth and development of the Community Medicine veterinary nursing care team while ensuring seamless coordination of medical support staff.

The Role:


  • Lead and mentor the Spay/Neuter clinical support staff to foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional growth
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Programs Manager on Spay/Neuter Clinic surgery scheduling, ensuring clear communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and implement veterinary nursing care protocols to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes
  • Support the team through teaching, coaching, and regular performance management
  • Update and maintain training plans for all levels of veterinary nursing care staff in the Spay/Neuter department
  • Work collaboratively with other department managers to ensure optimal staffing and seamless daily operations
  • Provide a balance of direct patient care on the floor with time off the floor for administrative duties
  • Manage and schedule Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs) and Veterinary Assistants
  • Oversee inventory and supply management in collaboration with our Purchasing Dept
  • Ensure accurate medical documentation and data collection for all Spay/Neuter activity
  • Promote safety by modeling and enforcing best practices in veterinary care and workplace procedures
  • Schedule: Four, 10 hour shifts per week (7a-6p), clinic operates Tuesdays through Saturdays

Requirements


  • Five or more years of experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT); HQHVSN or Shelter Medicine experience preferred
  • At least three years of leadership and management experience in a high-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring teams
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to delegate, lead, and inspire a diverse team
  • Comfort working in a shelter/veterinary environment with exposure to various animal conditions and allergens


Salary & Benefits


The starting salary for this position depends on the depth and breadth of experience. The expected range is $105,000 - $115,000.
