Position Summary:
We are seeking a Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA) or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our collaborative behavioral health team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish, experienced or comfortable treating patients in our Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, and passionate about community mental health. You will work in an integrated care model alongside primary care and behavioral health clinicians to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and supportive care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide medication management for patients with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders.
* Manage a panel of MAT patients receiving buprenorphine or naltrexone, collaborating with care coordinators and substance use counselors.
* Provide culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate care to Spanish-speaking patients.
* Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, and case managers in a team-based setting.
* Participate in case conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance documentation.
* Ensure documentation meets standards for HRSA, DHCS, and other regulatory entities.
Qualifications:
* Licensed in California as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a furnishing license and DEA certification.
* X-waiver (DATA 2000 waiver) or experience prescribing MAT medications preferred.
* Minimum of 1-2 years in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting (FQHC or community clinic experience a plus).
* Fluent in Spanish (required).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to equitable and trauma-informed care.
* Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR), preferably eClinicalWorks.
Schedule & Location:
* Full-time schedule preferred
* In-person role at Mission Viejo Clinic.
