As the Merchandising Director at an EU sourcing business for the hardline department, this role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the business to look after the key category. You will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing function and leading a big team. This position promises to be a highly challenging yet rewarding opportunity for you and your career.

A typical day will include the following:-

• Lead and manage merchandising and product development teams, supervising the daily operations and ensuring the performance and productivity match the company's business strategies
• Manage the team to handle the end-to-end merchandising process from product development, negotiation to order completion
• Manage and supervise the team to identify suitable suppliers and build up strong vendor partnerships to meet the company's strategic direction
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders on product strategy and provide solutions on supply chain issues
• Advise on the overall quality standard of products and suggest future strategies.
• Regular vendor on-site visits for all production control, factory ethical program development and factory performance.
• Work closely with the functional team to ensure an effective and efficient supply chain process.
• Enhance team performance and provide coaching to different internal stakeholders

To succeed in this key role:

You must have solid experience in hardline products and be strong in supplier sourcing and negotiation. We are seeking an individual who is self-motivated, possesses strong problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn, and good leadership skills

Knowledge, Capabilities, and Experience:

• Possess 10+ years of relevant industry sourcing experience
• Minimum of 8 years experience in leading sizable teams for well known sourcing businesses
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and import sourcing practices/procedures
• Exhibit strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate the team
• Have strong negotiation skills and the ability to guide the team to successful win-win negotiations
• Willingness to travel regularly
