Solution Architect / Platform Architect – Retail Media Technology
Location: Melbourne (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Contract: 6-12 Months (View to Extend)
We’re partnering with a leading enterprise that is building a next-generation retail media platform and seeking an experienced Platform Architect to drive the design and integration of scalable, API-driven media technology infrastructure.
This is a rare opportunity to sit at the centre of ad tech, customer data, and campaign orchestration, enabling monetisation across both first- and third-party ecosystems.
It’s ideally suited to an architect who thrives in fast-paced, data-rich environments and can lead the delivery of secure, modular, and extensible platform designs in collaboration with business, engineering, and vendor teams.
Your Mission:
- Architect the integration of CDPs, ad servers, clean rooms, DSPs, and campaign platforms
- Define patterns for real-time audience activation, attribution, and media measurement
- Lead API design, event-streaming, and data flow architecture across marketing and media stacks
- Translate stakeholder needs into technical roadmaps and scalable, future-proof designs
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors (e.g., Zitcha, CitrusAd, The Trade Desk, Snowflake, LiveRamp)
- Support agile delivery processes and backlog prioritisation across the platform
- Embed privacy-by-design and secure identity resolution into the platform architecture
Ideal Background:
- 8+ years in solution/platform architecture, ideally in media, MarTech, or retail environments
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture (AWS preferred), serverless, and event-driven frameworks
- Hands-on with API orchestration, Kafka/Kinesis, and data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Experience with CDPs, clean rooms, and campaign platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Adobe, Tealium)
- Deep understanding of data privacy frameworks (APP, GDPR, CCPA)
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills—able to simplify complexity and drive alignment
- Familiar with Agile/DevOps delivery and documentation tools (JIRA, Confluence, MIRO)
