Job description: Solution Architect – IoT & Data Platform

Location: Yelahanka, Bangalore

We are looking for a hands-on Solution Architect to join our core engineering team, driving the architecture and evolution of our high-scale IoT data platform. You'll work closely with product, infra, and data teams to design and deliver scalable, resilient, and ecient systems that power real-time connected vehicle intelligence and analytics. This role is ideal for someone who has grown through the ranks of backend/data engineering and is now ready to lead architecture decisions and solve system-level problems at scale.

To Be Successful, You Will Be Expected To

• Own end-to-end architecture for large-scale IoT and connected vehicle platforms.
• Design and review solutions involving real-time data ingestion (Kafka, MQTT, Flink), processing, and storage (Pinot, Redis, S3, PostgreSQL).
• Collaborate with teams to define service boundaries, APIs, schemas, and scaling strategies.
• Evaluate and integrate technologies and architectural patterns (e.g., event-driven, CQRS, streaming, Lambda architecture).
• Ensure systems meet SLAs for performance, availability, scalability, and cost eciency.
• Define and uphold best practices for security, observability, and fault tolerance.
• Work with DevOps/Infra to guide deployments on Kubernetes/GCP/AWS.
  
  

You must have any or a combination of any of the following skills:

• 3–6 years of experience in backend, data, or platform engineering.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and system design.
• Proven experience with Kafka, Flink, Redis, and PostgreSQL or equivalent.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS) and Kubernetes.
• Experience in designing data-intensive systems (real-time + batch).
• Good grasp of data modeling and schema evolution across pipelines.
• Comfortable with API design (REST/GraphQL) and secure data exchange.
• Exposure to Apache Pinot, EMQX, or similar streaming/telemetry infra.
• Experience in scaling systems to handle billions of events/day.
• Past experience in automotive, energy, or industrial IoT is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and systems thinking.
• Able to simplify complex technical discussions and communicate clearly.
• Proactive ownership with a bias for action and iteration
