Solution Architect – AI/ML with Defense & National Security Expertise

Location: Flexible but must be available for client engagements at select Air Force Base (AFB) locations. Plan for 25% travel. Preferred if located in Oklahoma City or the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) region.

The company is seeking a Solution Architect with AI/ML expertise to lead defense-focused AI system integration for national security programs. This role requires direct engagement with U.S. Air Force sustainment, logistics, and engineering teams at Tinker AFB, Robins AFB, and Hill AFB, with an expected 25% travel requirement.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement AI/ML solutions to enhance military aviation sustainment, operational readiness, and predictive maintenance.
• Support Department of Defense (DoD) AI/ML adoption efforts, particularly in defense logistics, mission sustainment, and threat assessment.
• Work on-site with military clients to define operational needs and translate them into AI-enabled solutions.
• Act as a technical liaison between government stakeholders and AI/ML development teams, ensuring alignment with mission requirements.
• Integrate AI-driven decision-support tools into weapon system logistics and sustainment frameworks.
• Lead technical proof-of-concepts and prototype demonstrations for AI-based maintenance, logistics, and sustainment technologies.
• Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity, data governance, AI ethics guidelines, and Texas Workforce Commission regulations.
• Remain informed on emerging AI/ML innovations relevant to national security and defense applications.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in uniformed military service (active or reserve) or federal civil service in defense sustainment, aviation logistics, maintenance, or engineering.
• 5+ years of direct experience in aviation sustainment, predictive maintenance, or logistics operations within the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, Army, or Coast Guard.
• Proven experience with AI/ML applications in a technical or operational role supporting defense or national security initiatives.
• Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance (must be eligible for immediate deployment to customer sites).
• Understanding of defense acquisition processes, sustainment policies, and AI applications in military operations.
• Ability to translate operational mission needs into AI/ML technical solutions in a client-facing environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC) at Tinker AFB, Robins AFB, or Hill AFB.
• Familiarity with predictive maintenance, digital twin modeling, and AI/ML-enabled decision support systems.
• Understanding of AFTO 00-20 series publications, Condition-Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+), and military logistics enterprise systems such as IMDS, GCSS-AF, ALIS, or AMPS.
• Experience with AI/ML model development, Python, TensorFlow, or similar tools.
• Prior involvement in defense acquisition programs related to AI/ML and sustainment technology.
• Completion of at least one DAU certification, such as:
• LOG 101 (Acquisition Logistics Fundamentals)
• ENG 101 (Fundamentals of Systems Engineering)
• PMT 252 (Program Management Tools Course)
• DAWIA Level II or III certification (preferred)
