Summary

Our client is seeking a Flight Assembly Technician to join their multidisciplinary team focused on developing and operating space camera systems for both government and commercial space missions. This role is responsible for the high-level assembly of prototype and flight-grade electronics, supporting the full hardware development lifecycle from prototyping to integration.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assemble electronic, mechanical, optical, and cable harness components in accordance with detailed work instructions and applicable NASA and IPC workmanship standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate assembly documentation.
  • Assist engineering teams in the prototyping, testing, troubleshooting, and integration of electronics and harnesses.
  • Perform daily ESD check-ins and ensure proper lab protocol.
  • Cross-train to support various assembly disciplines and collaborate effectively within a production team.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide regular work updates.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of workspaces, tools, and equipment.
  • May travel to customers or vendors as needed.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training, trade school, or ROP certifications preferred.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a relevant assembly or electronics production environment.
  • Proficient in hand soldering, cable harness assembly, mechanical integration, and interpreting schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and a strong communicator.
  • Machinist experience for test fixture fabrication preferred.
  • Willingness to work outside standard business hours and occasionally travel.
