proteanTecs is looking for a Firmware Verification Engineer to join the ride as we spearhead the next revolution in electronics!


Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in firmware verification and validation, spanning both Pre-Silicon (Pre-Si) and Post-Silicon (Post-Si) environments.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and Shell scripting, with a focus on automation and test tooling.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications (formerly "Advantages")

  • Experience in firmware development with proficiency in C programming.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Background in VLSI or FPGA development, including familiarity with Verilog HDL or System Verilog.
  • Familiarity with build systems such as GNU Make, CMake, and similar build tools. Familiarity with Tcl (Tool Command Language).
  • Practical experience with development containers (e.g., Docker) and virtual environments.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and spearhead the development of an automated firmware verification test environment, incorporating automated test analysis and reporting tailored for seamless CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans for firmware features, covering unit testing, component-level testing with RTL simulation, and end-to-end system validation using FPGA platforms.
  • Execute test cycles, oversee test plan implementation, and provide final sign-off for customer releases.
  • Partner with firmware design and architecture teams to enhance debug, tracing, and profiling capabilities within the firmware stack.
  • Assist the firmware design team in replicating customer-reported issues and contribute to effective debugging and resolution.
