Overview:
Lutron is seeking a skilled software engineer to develop machinery that validates the assembly and configuration of consumer products that will be directly received by our end users. As a software engineer for our manufacturing test equipment,you will participate in high-impact projects from the start. Your contributions will help to maintain our market position as the world leader in smart lighting and shading systems.
You will be a contributor within a cross-functional team, helping to conceptualize, design and develop customized manufacturing testing solutions and processes that are innovative, intuitive and high-quality. This machinery will immediately enhance the impact to our operations teams all while maximizing our value to our end users. As a member of our team, your skills and passion for software will be nurtured while working in a collaborative environment through apprenticeship and supervision by industry experts.
In this role, you will encounter a variety of technologies throughout the tester lifecycle such as:
Distributed Cloud Services
Desktop and Web Applications
Exposure to software development tools and languages (C/C++/C#/.NET, SQL, Python, Atlassian Tools)
Instrumentation and Measurement Devices such as signal generators and meters
Your will be working in several of the following functional areas:
Manufacturing Testing process development and optimization
Information Retrieval, Data Management and Analysis
Efficient Design and use of Algorithms and Data Structures
Object Oriented Analysis and Design
Software Debugging, Testing and Tracing
Scaled Agile Software Methodology
Communications and I/O
Multithreading and Parallelization
Security
Responsibilities:
Specifying tester requirements with a multidisciplinary team, including electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering
Participating in software design and implementation
Developing strategies for verification and validation
Testing, deploying, managing and maintaining software components
Participating in consensus-based software project management
Feature estimation and prioritization
Reviews and demos
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Robotics
Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for all degrees earned
5+ years of professional industry experience
Willingness to travel 5% of the time to international manufacturing facilities for troubleshooting and support
Relevant industry experience developing manufacturing test equipment.
