About the Role:

Position: Software Test Engineer- Mission Testing / Live Modes Game QA

Location: Vancouver, BC (hybrid)

Summary:

We’re looking for skilled and passionate Software Test Engineers to join one of the most iconic game development environments in Canada. In this role, you’ll support the game development lifecycle with early testing, gameplay systems validation, AI behavior review, documentation creation, and performance stability testing. You’ll work closely with developers, production, and core QA to keep milestones on track and the gameplay experience smooth and bug-free.

Roles and Responsibilties:

• Support mission or live-mode testing throughout the dev cycle.
• Create detailed test briefs, QA documentation, and bug reports.
• Act as first point of contact for QA and Dev team inquiries.
• Perform hands-on gameplay testing, including AI, cinematics, multiplayer sync, mission flow, and match logic.
• Own the health reporting of features and deliver critical QA feedback.
• Identify issues related to checkpoint saves, network desyncs, stability across platforms, and UI/UX flow.
• Ensure testing completeness across various configurations and difficulty settings.

Skills and Requirements:

• 3–5 years of game QA experience, ideally across multiple dev cycles
• Deep understanding of mission or multiplayer gameplay systems, AI testing, co-op flow, and save/load states
• Solid experience with:
• Combat Testing (AI behavior, difficulty scaling, ability logic)
• Match Progression & Objective Flow
• Multiplayer / Co-op / Drop-in Drop-out Testing
• Cinematics, Dialogue, and Subtitles QA
• Checkpoint Systems and Cross-Platform Saves
• Environment & Level Design Bug Discovery
• Performance Monitoring across PC
• Experience using bug tracking and test case management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Confluence)
• Excellent documentation and cross-team communication skills
• Comfort interfacing with QA leads, producers, and engineers

Nice to haves:

• Unreal Engine experience
• Experience with Perforce, SharePoint
• Ability to guide other testers or team members in QA processes
• Familiarity with AAA shooter titles or fast-paced PvP game environments

Salary Range: $ 50000 - 62000 Annually - Factors that may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
