Summary

We are seeking a Technical Writer to lead and enhance our technical documentation function. This role combines hands-on content creation with team leadership, focusing on improving processes, ensuring content quality, and driving team efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical background, particularly in distributed systems and databases, and excel at delivering precise and user-friendly documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Documentation:
    • Create and refine high-quality technical content that includes user guides, release notes, FAQs, and API documentation.
    • Simplify complex concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Guide and mentor, the documentation team to achieve excellence in deliverables.
    • Conduct reviews, set priorities, and foster best practices for consistent team performance.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Audit and enhance documentation workflows for improved efficiency and alignment with product releases.
    • Drive initiatives to standardize templates and streamline processes for content quality.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with product and engineering teams to gather information and stay updated on product developments.
    • Ensure content meets the specific needs of end users through a user-centric approach.



    Requirements

    Required skills and experience:


  • Technical Writing Expertise:
  • · Demonstrated ability to create comprehensive documentation including user guides, release notes, API documentation, and FAQs for complex enterprise software systems, with an emphasis on clarity and accuracy.

  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Intermediate understanding of distributed systems, databases, and query languages such as SQL.
    • Familiarity with programming concepts (e.g., Python, Java) and their application in technical documentation.
    • Proficiency in Linux environments for command-line operations and system navigation.
  • Tools:
    • Ability to Utilize tools like Git, Antora, or AsciiDoc for version-controlled, structured documentation.


    Preferred:
    • 2 to 5 years experience authoring technical documentation, preferably for software developers.
    • Knowledge of database and enterprise software terminology.
