As FAST our goal is to revolutionize training efficiency, flight safety and training quality by providing our customers with state-of-the-art flight training devices. We believe in the technology of Mixed Reality for the future of pilot training which is why we equipped our Mixed Reality Simulators with this technology.

For our flight simulators, we are looking for software and systems engineers who are interested in sustainable software development, mixed reality, and artificial intelligence in the context of aviation.

In order to accomplish running and future projects, we need Your expertise at our Berlin headquarters:

Software / Systems Engineer (m/f/d) for Flight Simulation

We are pleased to be able to employ you and your skills for the following tasks:

• Enjoying coding application- and user-centric solutions with clean and green coding paradigm for long-term availability, maintainability and sustainability
• Creating a user-friendly, use-case-oriented and ergonomic interface for trainers, also with regard to interaction with AI models.
• Conceive, design, prototype, evaluate and deploy AI-driven features to enhance pilot training programs, with special consideration for operational sites with limited connectivity.
• Requirements-Engineering with the domain experts in a validated domain-specific development process to ensure the security, scalability and high availability of the simulators.
• Continuous optimization of the mixed reality solution in terms of technical quality, immersion and configuration stability

Preferred but not required knowledge and skills:

• Knowledge of aviation and piloting, in general joy and curiosity to understand complex systems in such a way that they can be simulated in an evaluable way.
• A general software engineering background.
• Independent working style with a willingness to learn and hands-on mentality in a coaching/mentoring environment.
• Analytical skills paired with a positive change of perspective
• Creativity and innovation: We welcome creative thinkers who imagine and develop new features, even when others say it is not possible.
