Join our Team as a Software Support Engineer

We seek an experienced and motivated Software Support Engineer with strong SQL and Data Analysis skills to support our innovative insurance web application. This role focuses on collaborating with our Software Action Team (SWAT) to tackle live production issues, identify improvements, and enhance our users' overall User Experience (UX). If you're passionate about problem-solving, debugging, and working with SQL, this is the perfect opportunity!

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Production Issue Resolution: Collaborate with the SWAT team to address and resolve live production issues users report.
  • Debugging & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and debug reported issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to minimize issues, reduce manual interventions, and improve system reliability.
  • SQL Expertise: Write, execute, and optimize SQL statements for troubleshooting and resolving database-related challenges.
  • Problem Categorization: Classify and document problems, resolutions, and trends to track recurring issues and identify hot spots.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to resolve technical issues and implement enhancements.
  • User Communication: Provide internal users timely status updates and resolutions, ensuring transparency and satisfaction.
  • Agile Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with Agile team members and stakeholders, adhering to Agile principles and promoting a seamless workflow.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Degree Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • SQL Proficiency: 3 years of proven experience writing and executing SQL commands and solid understanding of relational databases.
  • Agile Experience: Hands-on experience working in Agile teams, including story pointing, managing sprint burndowns, and contributing to Agile artifacts.
  • Technical Expertise: Familiarity with debugging tools, database management systems, and best practices for improving application performance.
  • Time Management: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Self-Starter: Can work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate clearly and professionally across all levels of an organization.
