The Role

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented QA Engineer to join our dynamic team as our first dedicated QA hire. In this role, you will be instrumental in defining and scaling our quality assurance processes across our web application. Working directly with product and engineering teams in our startup environment, you’ll have the autonomy to translate business priorities into robust QA strategies and engineering solutions.

What You’ll Do

Develop and Implement QA Processes

• Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers to design scalable, end-to-end QA methodologies.
• Build and enhance automated testing frameworks and create detailed documentation for manual testing procedures.
• Develop comprehensive test strategies and test cases for our complex, distributed systems.

Drive Quality and Enhance User Experience

• Organize and conduct user testing sessions to deeply understand user needs and gather actionable feedback.
• Continuously iterate on QA processes by incorporating new techniques and industry best practices.

Ensure Continuous Improvement

• Define and monitor quality metrics, working to enhance our CI/CD pipeline and testing patterns.
• Stay current on emerging trends and technologies, and proactively integrate innovative QA practices into our workflow.

Collaborate and Coach Across Teams

• Partner with Software Engineering and Product Management teams to ensure alignment between QA processes and business priorities.
• Coach both technical and non-technical team members on QA best practices, fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization.

What You’ll Bring

Experience & Expertise

• 2+ years as a Quality Assurance Engineer with a solid understanding of test methodologies and software release cycles.
• A proven track record of leveraging data to drive and measure the success of quality initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with QA in SaaS web solutions, distributed systems, mobile applications, or similar products.
• Proficiency with modern CI/CD platforms and tools (e.g., GitHub, Jira).

Technical & Organizational Skills

• Strong expertise in JavaScript and Next.js.
• Demonstrated ability to create and execute detailed test plans that align with feature goals, architectural requirements, and customer use cases.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to independently manage priorities in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts and articulate scalable engineering solutions.
• A strategic mindset that emphasizes thorough architectural planning and proactive problem solving.
