Software Project Manager – Automotive

⏳ Workload: 50% or full-time (the full-time option can be combined with a role as a SW Engineer/Architect)

At RSB Automotive Consulting, we support our clients throughout the entire V-model – from requirements and systems engineering, through implementation, to testing and validation. We collaborate with industry leaders to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for automotive technologies.

For one of our trusted, long-term clients in the automotive sector, we are currently looking for a Software Project Manager to join their team and support projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate software development activities within an automotive project environment
• Maintain alignment with project goals, timelines, and quality standards
• Ensure effective communication across engineering, testing, and quality teams
• Identify project risks and dependencies, and actively manage mitigation plans
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and status updates for stakeholders
• Support customer communication and represent the software team in cross-functional meetings
  
  

What You Bring

• Proven experience in managing software projects, ideally in the automotive or embedded systems domain
• Good understanding of software lifecycle management and industry standards (e.g. ASPICE, ISO 26262)
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Experience working in international teams and complex technical environments
• Fluent English (spoken and written); German is an advantage
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project)
• Familiarity with version control and software integration tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins)
• Knowledge of automotive development processes and safety standards
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities
