ABOUT ARKENSIGHT

Arkensight is building a hive-mind AI platform that centralizes visual data streams from distributed cameras - drones, satellites, vehicles, CCTV - and analyzes them with natural language and multimodal AI to monitor critical infrastructure. We help enterprises and governments automate inspection and surveillance for critical infrastructure operations by enabling contextual object detection, geolocation, and change and anomaly detection. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You’re an ambitious and hands-on Software Engineer (backend) who wants to build a platform from the ground up. You are comfortable working in chaotic, startup enviroment and you have a passion for AI. Most importantly, you want to build a real, practical products that are supported by AI. If you’ve always wanted the opportunity to design a system from scratch, make key architectural decisions, and bring your vision to life, this is the job for you.

You should have at least 3+ years of industry experience in backend development and be ready to take ownership of designing and building a high-performance system.

This role is on-site in Zagreb, Croatia.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

• Design and build a scalable backend architecture for real-time and batch processing of visual and multimodal data.
• Develop APIs and data pipelines that integrate diverse data sources.
• Work with AI and analytics teams to process and analyze visual data (images, videos, geospatial data).
• Deploy & scale the system in cloud and/or on-prem environments.
• Plan and develop core product features together with the product team

Technologies we use (and you should be comfortable with):

• Backend Frameworks: FastAPI, Spring Boot, Node.js, or similar RESTful frameworks
• Databases: PostgreSQL, PostGIS
• Messaging & Streaming: Kafka, RabbitMQ
• Containerization & Orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker
• Cloud & DevOps: AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines

Bonus points if you have experience with any of the following:

• Experience working with AI-driven analysis of images, video, or geospatial data
• Background in computer vision or sensor fusion applications
• Hands-on experience with deploying AI models in production
• Experience with on-premise and cloud-based deployments
• Previous involvement in leading a team or mentoring junior engineers

SALARY:

• EUR 3,800 - 5,000 gross, per month
• Equity stock options (4 years vesting, including 1 year cliff)
