Kforce has a client in Salt Lake City, UT that is seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Python and experience working with modern web frameworks and tools. This role involves enhancing REST APIs, working with databases, and contributing to both backend and frontend development. Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain backend services using Python (Django or Flask experience is a plus) * Enhance and maintain RESTful APIs * Work with PostgreSQL and other relational databases * Collaborate with frontend developers using React and JavaScript * Utilize Linux-based environments and containerization tools like Docker * Write and maintain shell scripts for automation and deployment tasks * Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field * Proficiency in Python; familiarity with Django or Flask is a plus * Understanding of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL * Experience with REST API development and enhancement * Familiarity with React and JavaScript for frontend development * Working knowledge of Linux, Docker, and Shell Scripting * Visa sponsorship is not available for this position Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working in agile development environments * Strong problem-solving and communication skills * Ability to work independently and in a team setting
