Salary: $95,000 - $105,000
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of IT Applications, the Software Engineer will be responsible for engineering, design, development, support, and architecture of software, integrations, data, and business intelligence across all Randa companies. This individual will be responsible for building robust, scalable solutions while ensuring code quality and performance. This includes designing, coding, testing, and deploying applications, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Essential Job Functions
- Utilizes sound engineering principles to build robust, secure, scalable, and appropriately tested features and solutions from end to end
- Works with technologies across the Randa development stack, including front end, back end, DevOps, and cloud
- Translates business requirements into designs and code that achieve business and technical objectives
- Works collaboratively with cross-cutting teams to solve complex technical challenges to meet business goals
- Builds confidence, trust, and rapport with internal and external clients as appropriate
Education/License Requirements
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
Minimum Qualifications
- Required: 1-3 years of software engineering experience working in complex environments (or work experience equivalent)
- Experience with modern practices and methodologies like automation, CI/CD, DevOps, SRE, infrastructure as code, and other techniques that use system scale rather than staff augmentation
- Strong knowledge and experience with .NET Core, C#, SQL, and RPG
- Proficient in understanding how CRUD maps to integrations
- Experience working in cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP with proficiencies in services like AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, or equivalent GCP/Azure services desired
- Experience with domain-driven architectures and cloud technologies is highly desired
- Familiarity with UI technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, NodeJS, React, ES6, and others desired but not required
- Experience with SQL and complex stored procedures
- Strong understanding of unit testing principles and approaches
- Strong understanding of source code control tools and branching models
- Experience using project management tools like Atlassian JIRA or Azure DevOps
- Experienced with building out and maintaining metrics, alarms, and monitoring of services and application stack
- Excellent communication skills and understanding of the importance of regular communication to the entire team about business and IT roadmaps
- Excellent problem solver where the big picture is understood and challenges are recognized before they occur; relevant information from internal and external SME’s is investigated, then drive decisions and next steps to get the optimized short-term to long-term result for the team
- You have successfully delivered roadmap initiatives using either Waterfall or Agile methodology
