We are looking for a talented and passionate Software Engineer located in Sydney to join our fast-growing consumer brand. At DOG by Dr Lisa (DBDL), we are building the biggest global luxury skincare and lifestyle brand for pets. You will work alongside our marketers, developers, designers and content creators as part of a collaborative agile team. Our tech stack is micro-service based and we care deeply about creating high-quality software and great customer experiences. We operate at the intersection of retail and technology, developing an integrated commerce solution to support our multiple sales channels. You will: ● Research, design, develop and deliver microservice based applications around our core ecommerce system, ● Write clean, scalable, testable code to support clear business objectives ● Build high-quality user experiences ● Provide input and direction towards the evolution of the technology stack, in line with industry standards and best practice. Give advice, guidance and expertise in developing proposals and strategies for software design activities such as financial evaluation and costings for recommending software purchases and upgrades ● Are a champion of teamwork and creating great culture Day to Day ● Write, test and support full stack applications using multiple technologies in accordance with quality standards ● Build services that are secure and scalable by design ● Write reusable, testable, and efficient code. Testing, debugging, diagnosing and correcting errors and faults in applications programming languages ● Create clean, usable, accessible user interfaces ● Develop automated tests verifying your code ● Participate in team planning and software design sessions You will need: ● 3+ years of hands-on experience in Agile Software Development. ● Strong front-end and back-end design and development skills. ● Experience working knowledge of GitHub and code control. ● Extensive experience with JavaScript, React, Liquid, React and Gatsby. ● Direct experience with MicroServices / SOA & cloud-based SaaS solutions ● Strong OO design and development experience. ● Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Development or Technology, a relevant vendor certificate or at least 5 years relevant industry experience. ● Cloud experience. Nice to Have ● Document store databases such as CosmosDB / MongoDB ● Experience building and supporting micro-frontends ● Experience with event sourcing More about DBDL Our office is in Watsons Bay Sydney.
