GoHealth Intro: As a leading health insurance marketplace, GoHealth’s mission is to improve access to healthcare in America. For customers, enrolling in a health insurance plan is confusing and difficult, and seemingly small differences between plans can lead to significant out-of-pocket costs or lack of access to critical medicines and even providers. We use our technology, data science, agents, and expertise to cut through the confusion and get customers enrolled in a plan with the right coverage and benefits.

Work remotely within Slovakia or on-site in Bratislava or Košice. Remote work is limited to Slovak residents due to VPN guidelines. Regular employment only, no B2B contracts.


Salary starting at 3.200 EUR/month

This is a legal monthly minimum required to be stated by the Slovak law. Offered salary varies based on relevant experience and skills. From 3200 EUR/m for a Mid-level and from 4000 EUR/m for a Senior position. Plus: Annual Salary Bonus based on individual & company performance.


We are looking for a versatile and motivated software engineer with strong experience in Java and Spring Boot. While deep expertise in AWS and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles is a huge plus, a willingness to learn and apply best practices in these areas is just as valuable. Your role

You will work closely with our software development teams to build well-architected, secure, resilient, and high-performing applications—not by developing product features directly, but by providing the tools, libraries, and infrastructure that enable teams to do so efficiently. Your focus will be on platform engineering, ensuring that our internal services, frameworks, and best practices empower developers to build and operate reliable applications at scale.


You will

You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our API ecosystem and platform capabilities. Your work will include creating shared libraries, improving developer workflows, and optimizing infrastructure components. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the reliability, performance, and security of our systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your technical expertise to drive innovation, streamline processes, and develop skills in both Software Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering.

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • Minimum of 3 years of overall experience in software development
  • Practical knowledge of web-based application development, with an understanding of microservices architecture and serverless technologies is a must
  • Proficiency with Java and Spring Boot
  • Service containerization and deployment automation using Docker
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and improve existing skills
  • Written and verbal communications skills in English (B2)


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience with AWS services, mainly ECS, API Gateway, Lambda
  • Exposure to configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash and Go are beneficial
  • Knowledge of GraphQL Federation is highly desirable
  • Understanding of identity technologies such as OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect is beneficial
  • Experience in managing a 24/7 SaaS infrastructure
