You Are

UST is searching for a Software Engineer Intern who will develop detailed use cases and scenarios of new functions for the platform.

The Opportunity

• Understand the scope for a collaboration platform and analyze platform requirements.
• Learn the UST design process and contribute to the design of the platform.
• Learn the technologies relevant to the project by acquiring knowledge and proficiency in required technologies and tools for asset creation within the innovation platform environment.
• Create high-quality assets for templatized projects, including AI models, exemplars, mashups, and widgets.
• Extend the multi-tenant application for customers.
• Optimize assets for performance and memory usage to ensure smooth execution on target Azure platforms.
• Test and iterate on assets to ensure they meet the platforms quality standards.
• Build starter kits with application of technologies in AI/ML, XR, Robotics, IoT, Generative AI tasks to generate solutions.
• Work with the design and development team to tackle technical challenges related to platform integration, optimization, and generative AI, IoT tasks.
• Learn how to communicate with teams with good written, verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels at UST.
• Play the role of product owner, platform coordinator and understand full lifecycle of platform development
  
  

This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.

What You Need

• MUST have advanced programming skills in any on the languages – Java, Python, C, C++, C#
• MUST have background in common computer algorithms
• MUST have working knowledge on using data structures and applying it.
• SHOULD have a working knowledge in relational databases and SQL.
• SHOULD have an introductory background in AI and ML.
• SHOULD have an introductory or working knowledge of Microcontrollers
• MUST have good documentations skills using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• MUST have presentational skills by preparing a paper, researching a topic, developing, and presenting it.
• SHOULD have good interpersonal skills and communicate with team members, others peer groups and leads
• COULD have project management, small team management and coordination skills
• NICE TO HAVE working knowledge of GenAI related tools.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in Engineering or Science related to Information Technology field ( Freshman to Senior)
  
  

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Role Location: California

Compensation Range: $20-24/hr

Benefits

Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.

Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year) and are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) program with employer matching. Part-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).

All US employees who work in a state or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
