Summary

About Toma

At Toma, we’re building something unorthodox—a fully AI-driven workforce for the $2T automotive space.

Our small team (from Scale AI/Uber, Braze, Columbia, Berkeley, and Waterloo) spent months living and breathing dealerships to learn the ropes.

We’ve built an in-house voice AI and agentic workflow orchestration platform, grown $100k ARR MoM purely through word-of-mouth, and raised capital from the best of the best investors in Silicon Valley on our way to create the world’s first “ghost dealerships.”

About This Role

We are looking for a rockstar Mid-to-Senior Software Engineer and people-person to be the founding member of our integrations team. You will interface with the CTO, marketing, and operations to actively partner with automotive tech vendors and build what we are internally calling the Plaid for Automotive.

  • Interface with CTO, marketing, and operations
  • Engage in meetings with automotive vendor partners
  • Create tooling to enable operations to onboard customers faster and to more efficiently leverage partner platforms
  • Achieve certifications across all common vendors

  • Build Scheduler integrations with Affinitiv, CDK (Scheduler), and more
  • Build robust testing and improve the integration development experience
  • Create brand new call flows that no other AI vendors have
  • Establish better monitoring for integrations

Required Qualifications

  • A track record of excellence throughout your career
  • Exceptional coding skills and the ability to ship high-quality code daily
  • Strong problem ownership and drive
  • Experience in partnering with tech vendors (infrastructure, integrations, etc.)
  • Passion and guts for talking to (and getting roasted by) customers
  • Great understanding of operating systems and distributed systems
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and integrating with external APIs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building LLM applications
  • Aptitude for prompt engineering
  • Former founding or critical leadership experience

Benefits

  • Free lunch in the office
