Realtime Recruitment is seeking a skilled Software Test Engineer for a permanent position based in Dublin City Centre. This is a permanent role with genuine room to grow, innovate, and shape the future of software testing in an exciting and growing company.
Responsibilities
• Design and implement detailed test strategies for a range of innovative projects
• Own the test automation for APIs and SDKs, building out reusable frameworks
• Triage integration issues, replicate problems, and help identify root causes and fixes
• Work closely with developers, QA, and product teams throughout the SDLC
• Track and report on testing progress, keeping stakeholders aligned and informed
• Act as the voice of quality and reliability at every release gate
• Continuously improve test processes, tools, and coverage
• Ensure customer-centric testing by thinking beyond the happy path
Requirements
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar (MS preferred)
• 3+ years' experience in embedded software testing — ideally in data centres, networking, security, cloud, or automotive
• Strong hands-on skills in automation using Python and shell scripting
• Familiarity with Linux environments and cloud infrastructure (public/private)
• Experience testing physical devices and working on end-to-end testing for cloud-connected embedded products
• Knowledge of test frameworks like PyTest, Behave, or similar
• Experience with API testing and automation for SDKs
• Bonus: Experience with C++ is a plus
• Comfortable using tools like JIRA, Jenkins, Testrail, and Jama
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
