Job Description – Core (AS/400) Developer
• Minimum of 6 years of software development experience
• Experienced in conducting development activities using stringent source code control
procedures.
• Experienced in developing estimates for design, development, and unit testing of
application functionality for the assignment.
• Core specific Technical Skillset required –
• - AS/400 using RPG, RPGLE, CL, CLLE
• - Knowledge of Integration and unit test and test driven development practices
• - Strong integration design and development experience
• - Need to have good debugging and problem solving skills
• - Should have good understanding of Framework and Design Patterns and able to
understand complex Architectural aspects
• Skillset desirable –
• - RUP, Agile and Waterfall development experience
• - Banking knowledge (especially for Vietnam market) will be added advantage
• -Good communication skills both written and verbal
Roles and Responsibilities
• Understand the requirement through different sources of information/documents
available with the team.
• Assist Tech Lead in designing activities and estimation of the work required.
• Learning the best practices and the methodology used in the program and adhere to the
standards.
• Coding and Unit Testing of the code written as per the program standards and
guidelines.
• Adhere the processes followed for development in the program.
• Mentor and train new team members.
• Identify and collaborate with all necessary stakeholders in order to come to terms or
reach agreement in accordance with defined project goals with little to no assistance.
• Track progress against assigned tasks, report status, and proactively identify issues to
the Tech Lead and management
Work successfully in a team environment and demonstrate a willingness to help team
members in achieving their project goals if required.
• Personal ownership and accountability for delivering assigned tasks and deliverables
within the established schedule.
• Facilitate a strong and supportive team environment that enables the team as well as
individual team members to overcome any political, bureaucratic and/or resource
barriers to participation.
