Summary

About the Team The Observability Platform team at SolarWinds builds the foundational APIs and services that power our next-generation observability products. On the Telemetry and Data APIs team, you'll be responsible for building the APIs at the core of our products, focusing specifically on our platform's data retrieval and analysis side. Your Role * As a Software Engineer on the Telemetry and Data APIs team, you'll help shape how SolarWinds teams get data out of our platform. You'll be responsible for building scalable solutions to some of our most challenging technical problems while optimizing for ease of use and sustainability, all centered on data retrieval, querying, and analysis. * Your Impact * Design and implement high-performance APIs that enable efficient querying of billions of telemetry data points * Architect solutions that help customers extract meaningful insights from complex observability data * Lead technical initiatives to improve query performance, data accessibility, and response time * Develop flexible data models that support diverse customer use cases and visualization needs * Collaborate with product teams to build intuitive data access patterns that meet evolving customer needs * Mentor junior engineers in API design and data retrieval best practices Your Experience * We understand that the perfect candidate doesn't exist on paper. We value diverse perspectives, eagerness to learn, and the ability to solve complex problems over checking every box in a list of requirements. * Demonstrated proficiency in designing and implementing robust software solutions using Java, Kotlin, Go, or similar languages * Experience designing and building scalable APIs using technologies like GraphQL and REST * Track record of working with observability products and understanding their unique data requirements * Hands-on experience with graph databases for storing and querying complex relationship data * Practical knowledge of time-series databases and their optimization techniques for telemetry data * Applied understanding of statistical concepts as they relate to data analysis and visualization * Proven ability to balance technical excellence with pragmatic solutions in a fast-paced environment * We believe in empowering our team members to make a meaningful impact.
