Summary

DESCRIPTION Amazon Selling Partner Services team drives the Selling On Amazon business and develops solutions that enable millions of sellers around the world to sell on Amazon's Marketplaces. More than half of shipments for Amazon customers are generated from this business. The team is focused on building a technology platform that will support the explosive business growth in existing markets, streamline the business for Amazon and the Selling partners and launch business in new markets and establish a fair marketplace. We are looking for a motivated, software development leader with both business and technical acumen. You will have the opportunity to build, scale and shape the direction of this business. This role requires deep technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and business judgment. You will be responsible for services that can be deployed globally, delivering an exceptional customer experience, provide thought leadership in a fast-paced development environment, and partner with product management and senior leaders to ensure the success of this program. As a Software Development Manager you will be responsible for leading a multi-functional team of engineers to design, develop, test, and launch new features and products. You will lead the teams through a significant time of change, as we prepare to support exponentially more use cases and customers than we have historically. You will use your technical expertise to drive decisions for the next generation of payment systems, and to build products to help us automate and scale. In addition, you are a leader of leaders with progressive technical experience, a demonstrated progression of management scope, and a passion for managing engineering talent in a fast-paced environment. You have kept your coding skills sharp, and possess exceptional project management and communication skills. You have successfully grown teams and people in the past, and bring out the best in your teams. You will draw from your deep and broad technical expertise to hire and mentor engineers, complete hands-on technical work and provide leadership on complex technical issues. You will manage and be responsible for delivering some of our most strategic technical projects. The ideal candidate thinks big and is a change driver. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree * 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience * 3+ years of engineering team management experience * 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience * 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience * Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations * Experience partnering with product or program management teams PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy * Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
