Job Description
The Software Development Manager is an integral part of the Technology Center, and is responsible for managing and coaching current team of developers. This position is a good mix of management and technical responsibilities, including:
Conducting code reviews, and implementing good coding standards and improvements to internal libraries/processes
Oversee and coordinate the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring smooth integration and migration of software components.
Lead and support the growth of our software development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous progress.
Manage and improve test coverage, evaluating and implementing testing strategies to ensure robust and reliable software.
Execute and manage broad codebase upgrades, ensuring reliability and performance optimization.
Collaborate with Leadership team (including Project Managers) based in Canada
The Successful Applicant
We are open for candidates who may not necessarily be a Manager yet, but has the foundational experience & scope of leadership and technical expertise.
Bachelor's degree, certificate or diploma in relevant field.
Ideally around 5 years' experience in a software development/people management role.
Good leadership skills, with a proven ability to mentor and guide technical teams towards successful project outcomes.
Proficiency in C# development and experience with Windows Forms and Windows Presentation Foundation applications. VB.Net experience is a plus but less critical.
Experience with database management systems, such as MySQL or similar technologies.
Demonstrated ability to enforce coding standards, ensuring consistency and quality across projects.
Strong communication skills, capable of effectively conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Analytical mindset, adept at troubleshooting complex technical issues and proposing effective solutions.
