Summary

Primary Duties & Responsibilities The individual in this role will be the focal point for the organization's software infrastructure and strategy with broad ownership of the organization's software development activities in support of our factory, new products development, and service: * Manage our software development pipeline and external software development contractors. * Supervise up to 2 internal developers. * Interface with corporate IT and other key stakeholders. * Organize and improve our software testing and release processes. * Software requirements and architecture synthesis, code reviews, test plans, etc. * Coding (expected 25-50% of time) Education & Experience * BS degree (Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred but other technical fields acceptable). * Must have at least 7 years of automated test & measurement experience in a structured software development organization, with >2 years in a manufacturing environment or equivalent. Skills * Strong knowledge of LabView and proficiency in C/C++, Python, and/or C#. * Familiarity with relational databases and writing SQL queries. * Comfortable learning new frameworks. * Experience developing and supporting complex metrology systems across the entire lifecycle including requirements analysis, architecture, design, coding, validation, and deployment. * Familiarity with collaborative source control and release tools such as Git and DevOps. * Project management skills. Ability to clearly articulate work plans, schedules, and resource requirements. * Ability to lead a small team and facilitate coworker's collaboration. * Proven problem-solving abilities combined with hands-on experience with, electrical, optical, and/or mechanical components. * Data analysis skills. Capable user of standard data analysis tools (Excel, Access). * Pluses but not required: * Experience using statistical tools (e.g. R, Minitab, etc.) * Experience with test and measurement of electronic and/or optical systems. * Prior experience in supervising a software development team. Working Conditions * Extended work at a desk with a computer * Work in laboratory and manufacturing environment with moderately loud machinery Physical Requirements * Occasional lift of equipment <25lbs Safety Requirements All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
