Role Overview

A Junior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is an entry-level position focused on ensuring software quality through automated and manual testing. The role typically involves designing, developing, and executing test cases, collaborating with development teams, and contributing to the continuous improvement of testing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for UI, API, and mobile applications.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab or Jenkins.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
• Participate in the design and review of test plans and strategies for new and existing products.
• Troubleshoot test failures, perform root cause analysis, and recommend improvements to test scripts.
• Support new product introductions and increase test coverage to identify potential issues early.
• Occasionally assist with web-based development tasks, such as creating dashboards or GUIs for test visibility.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including QA, developers, and product managers, to identify test requirements and scenarios.
  
  

Desired Skills And Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an SDET or in a related QA/software testing role.
• Experience with automation frameworks and tools such as BDD Cucumber, TestNG, and API automation.
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or Go for test development.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and basic Linux commands.
• Basic understanding of SQL and RESTful API validation.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and learn new technologies autonomously.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
