Job Title: Software Development Engineer (Java)
Location(s): Berkeley Heights, NJ (Primary) & Coral Springs, FL (Secondary) - Fully onsite
Duration: 12 months
Hourly pay: Up to $80/W2 only

Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops, tests, installs, and maintains systems, applications, networks, and related processes to meet the functional objectives of the business.
• Assesses system, application, network needs, provides modeling and simulation consulting to clarify client technology functionality, and evaluates and implement new advanced technologies.

Qualifications:

• Expertise in Java-17 or greater, Spring boot, Restful services, Open shift, NoSQL database. (Will consider other Java migration exp 11-17 or up is fine)
• Should be aware of working with Confluence, Jira, SharePoint and software security tools like Fortify, Sonatype.
• Able to work under a fast pace environment, understands and implements TDD for development.
• Looking for strong Java background, strong experience in spring, spring boot
• Migration exp. (highly desired)
• Looking for 8+ years of experience
• Minimum - Computer science graduate (Bachelor Degree)

Additional information:

• Migrating application from Java 8,17,21 - this is what they are planning
• Moving to spring boot from older technology
• Moving out of Java 8 and getting rid of old technologies, migration exp. (highly desired)
• Everything is backend, no UI work
• Java dev is writing the queries in NoSQL DB
• Already in API architecture, moving over from old tech stack.
• Refresh of Cassandra DB
• Will consider other Java migration exp (11-17) or up is fine
• Deploying the services in cloud, Azure cloud (one running in North America and one in India) - on prem
• Fortify/Sonatype - just need to know how to use those tools- used for scanning code and report critical incidents in QA environment. Need to fix to move code forward. What is the vulnerability and what is the fix you need to do
• Will not consider a candidate who is not from finance domain for but this can change if there are not enough applicants
• Tools: used to scan the software, code, Jenkins
