Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Location: Deerfield, IL (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week in Deerfield; occasional travel to Downtown Chicago as needed)
Duration & Type: 3-4 month Contract-to-Hire (Must be eligible to convert without visa sponsorship)

What You’ll Be Accountable For
- Design, build, and maintain automation frameworks across multiple platforms (web, mobile, desktop)
- Write and execute test plans, scenarios, and acceptance tests
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and technical specifications
- Identify, log, and track bugs and defects, ensuring high-quality releases
- Implement and manage continuous testing within CI/CD pipelines
- Provide clear documentation and cross-functional communication throughout the QA lifecycle
- Contribute to the overall testing strategy and maintain a strong testing mindset
- Leverage experience in eCommerce or retail domains to accelerate impact on product quality
What Qualifications You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering or test automation
- Strong programming background and scripting skills (e.g., Java, Node.js, Python, or similar)
- Proven experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks
- Experience testing in web and mobile environments
- Familiarity with bug tracking tools, CI/CD practices, and agile workflows
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
- Retail or eCommerce domain experience is a strong plus
