Summary

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced BizTalk Developer to support healthcare integration initiatives at Fraser Health Authority. The developer will be responsible for full lifecycle interface development, from analysis and technical documentation to testing and deployment, within a collaborative healthcare IT environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of integration interfaces using Microsoft BizTalk Server.
  • Analyze vendor technical documentation and translate into development tasks.
  • Work closely with the Integration Project Lead and participate in day-to-day development activities and team meetings.
  • Identify and escalate risks, issues, and constraints per established project governance protocols.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation aligned with Fraser Health standards.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, and analysts to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements.
  • Support broader integration and platform activities upon request.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer activities to Fraser Health internal teams throughout the engagement.


Mandatory Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft BizTalk Server (development, testing, deployment).
  • Strong understanding and working experience with HL7v2 messaging standards.
  • Proficient in .NET, C#, Visual Studio for development and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (on-premise) for source control, CI/CD, and project tracking.
  • Demonstrated experience working on large-scale healthcare integration projects.
  • Solid knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to create clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Proven experience with risk identification, mitigation, and escalation within structured project governance frameworks.
  • Commitment to knowledge transfer to internal FHA resources as part of contract deliverables.


Preferred Qualifications (Assets):

  • Previous experience working with Fraser Health or other BC health authorities.
  • Understanding of FHIR and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience working in large, matrixed team environments with cross-functional teams.
