JOB TITLE: Software Developer

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology

Overview

The Young Industries, Inc. is looking for a highly motivated, and driven individual that will develop/maintain in-house programs, write custom reports, and create/maintain database scripts. This position will be the sole software developer and report to the IT manger.

Role Responsibilities

• Write, read, and troubleshoot code.
• Creation and maintenance of in-house programs that interact with an ERP system's database
• Creation and maintenance of SQL scripts.
• Creation and maintenance of custom reports using Crystal reports.
• Creation and maintenance of user documentation for in-house programs.
• Import and Export data files as need by third party services.
• Assist in evaluating and integrating new software.
• Working with end users to fulfill development requests.
• Evaluate program interactions based on user requests.
• Assist in keeping the department up to date on emerging development trends.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Understanding of programming fundamentals.
• Experience with the .NET framework is preferred.
• Experience with Visual Basic is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of SQL.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is preferred.
• Experience with Crystal Reports is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to learn new languages and technology as needed.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Strong project and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Preferred to have bachelor's degree in software development, software engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
  
  

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
